John Jacobi, Lead Pastor
John arrived in the Twin Cities in 2006 following 18 years of service as a pastor in Illinois. His primary responsibilities on staff at Crosstown include: leadership, teaching, and caring. John takes unique joy in being part of a congregation that is extending itself to serve in the community as a tangible expression of Jesus’ grace and mercy. He has a heartfelt passion that the church exist to bless, encourage, and invite those who are not yet a part of it. Check out the archive of Pastor John’s sermons. John’s training includes a degree from Taylor University (IN) as well as studies at Ashland Seminary (OH), North Park Seminary (IL), and Fuller Seminary (CA). John is happily married to his beloved, Marna, and the couple have two adult children: Ben and Andrea (along with son-in-law Nathan Bakke).
Kyliah Clarke Villa, Pastor of Discipleship & Outreach
Kyliah has lived in Minneapolis since January 2008, when she received a snowy welcome from Southern California! She started as Pastor of Discipleship and Outreach at Crosstown in September 2016. In this role she helps to shepherd our congregation toward living in active pursuit of our Savior, through Bible study, teaching, service, and fellowship. She enjoys being involved with the community and looks forward to helping facilitate new friendships and ministry partnerships in the neighborhood. She and her husband John have 4 children: Samantha, Andreu, Silas, and Abigail. In her spare time she savors the outdoors, connecting with friends, carving out time for a good book, and volunteering as an instructor for CHET, the denomination’s Spanish language Bible institute. Kyliah holds an undergraduate degree in Spanish and history from Calvin College (2000), and an MDiv from Fuller Seminary (2007).
Kasey Manche, Office Manager
Kasey joined the Crosstown staff in September of 2017. Kasey comes to Crosstown with an excitement to use her experience in the areas of communications, organization, and creativity. Kasey graduated from the University of Northwestern- St. Paul, where she graduated with a degree in Theatre and Biblical Studies. Kasey grew up in a Covenant church and is excited to continue furthering the Lord’s kingdom in the office of Crosstown. When she’s not at the office, Kasey is pursuing theatre projects, exploring Minneapolis, and spending time with her cat Bumble.
Polly Inestroza, Director of Children & Family Ministry
Polly is a native Minnesotan, although she spent the majority of her adult life in Chicago, where she studied Youth Ministry and Biblical & Theological Studies at North Park University. After living in Chicago for 10 years, her family and home state called her back. Polly joined the Crosstown staff in January 2011 as the Director of Youth Ministry. She believes that young people who are passionately in love with Jesus Christ are some of Satan’s biggest threats in this world. As Polly says, “I love being able to walk alongside students as they explore and discover who they are in Christ!” In March 2017 Polly’s positioned changed to the Director of Children & Family Ministries. When Polly is not at church, she LOVES being with her awesome husband and 3 boys.
Rachel brings a love for the church and a joy to bring glory to God through music. She is passionate about writing music from scripture, retuning hymns, and getting to know new people. She led music in Washington D.C. for a number of years before moving to Minneapolis in 2014. Rachel is excited to be releasing her first full-length album this spring entitled, “Songs of Lament.” She is married to Joel and they have three kids. When she isn’t working on her music, Rachel enjoys reading classics, making soap, baking, and homeschooling her daughter.
Angie Kopylov, Director of Youth Ministry
Angie came to Minnesota as a five year old Russian immigrant and grew up in a large immigrant community. As an adult, she pursued a B.A. in Ministry at Bethel University. She began her journey at Crosstown in September 2017 as Director of Youth Ministries. Angie is passionate about getting to know students in a one-on-one setting as well as sharing stories of God’s hope and redemption in her life. “I love youth for their curiosity and honesty regarding difficult questions of life.” Her interests include exploring new food and places with her husband Roman.
